# SIGNAL: public bids matched to your trade

SIGNAL is a bid-intelligence subscription for Canadian contractors, built and
operated by Blue Crane Works Inc. (Hamilton, Ontario). It monitors 270 public
procurement sources every day across eight provinces (Ontario, British
Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and
Newfoundland and Labrador), scores each posting against a subscriber's trade
and service area, and delivers the matches by email with the closing date, the
buyer and the source link. 227 municipalities are available as a home town
at signup.

## How it works

1. **Tell it your trade.** Pick your trade and the cities you will actually
   drive to. That is the whole setup.
2. **It reads everything daily.** SIGNAL sweeps public procurement sources in
   eight provinces every day: municipal portals, bids&tenders, MERX, Biddingo,
   SaskTenders, CanadaBuys and the direct sites in between.
3. **You get the matches.** Each posting is scored against your profile. The
   ones that fit land in your inbox with the deadline, the buyer and the link
   to bid.

## What it watches

- Cities and regions: municipal bid portals from Ontario to BC, Alberta and
  Atlantic Canada
- School boards: roofing, paving, HVAC, electrical and maintenance tenders
- Transit, utilities and infrastructure: agencies such as Metrolinx, the TTC,
  Metro Vancouver, EPCOR and NL Hydro, plus community housing providers
- Universities and health care facilities
- Whole provinces at once: SaskTenders (Saskatchewan), MERX (Manitoba,
  Newfoundland and Labrador) and CanadaBuys (federal)
- Not read, because their rules turn automated readers away: Alberta
  Purchasing Connection and BC Bid. Calgary and Quebec are not covered yet.

## Pricing (Canadian dollars, month to month)

- **Launch pricing, join by February 11, 2027: $19.99/month.** First 90 days
  free, no card required to start; the price stays locked while the
  subscription remains active. $5 off per month for every active paying
  referral.
- **Standard: $29.99/month** with a 30-day trial, after the launch window.

Billing runs on Stripe; cancellation is self-serve from the account page.

## What SIGNAL is, and is not

- It is not a lead-gen list: every posting is a real public bid or tender
  from a real public buyer, and nothing is resold.
- It does not win the work; it removes the daily portal-checking and the
  missed deadlines.
- It fits some trades better than others: general contractors, civil and
  road work, underground servicing, grounds and site services see the most
  direct postings. Interior finishing trades are usually hired by the winning
  general contractor rather than tendered directly, and will see fewer
  matches.
